Nothando Hlophe’s hit song Methodist Medley has also been recognised as the most streamed gospel song on Spotify in the platform’s 2026 data release.
The achievement was celebrated by Genesis Ekucaleni Media, the executive producer behind the New Dawn project, which described the milestone as proof that Eswatini’s creative talent can compete successfully on international digital platforms.
Methodist Medley forms part of Hlophe’s acclaimed album A New Dawn, which was recorded on June 7, 2025, and has continued to receive widespread recognition across Southern Africa and beyond since its release.

The latest Spotify recognition adds to the song’s growing list of achievements and highlights the increasing international appetite for music produced in Eswatini.
Genesis Ekucaleni Media said the accomplishment demonstrates not only the global appeal of Hlophe’s music but also the enormous potential of the country’s creative economy when artists are supported through professional production, strategic management and commercial distribution.
Speaking on the achievement, Genesis Ekucaleni Media Founder and Director Senator Pholile Dlamini Shakantu congratulated everyone who contributed to the project’s success and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to developing Eswatini’s creative sector.
