ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Showers and storms are moving south across New Mexico, bringing heavy rain, hail and strong winds with the highest rain chances in central and eastern areas.
A flood watch starts at noon Saturday and lasts through midnight for parts of southern Lincoln County and around Otero County.
Thunderstorms could develop near Albuquerque early this evening. Strong winds may occur with those storms.
Sunday and Monday will bring less rain across New Mexico, with only isolated showers and storms expected.
High temperatures in the Albuquerque area could return to near 100 degrees Monday.
Daily rounds of afternoon thunderstorms will continue over the next seven days with frequent lightning, gusty winds, hail and localized heavy rainfall.
Sunday and Monday look drier overall, but flash flooding will still be possible in places that get multiple days of heavy rain or repeated rounds of thunderstorms.
