Nationwide News understands that Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness’ attempts to strike out portions of an affidavit filed by the Integrity Commission, have been unsuccessful.
The decision was handed down by the Court of Appeal Friday morning.
The decision was delivered by Justice Paulette Williams.
Last July, Nationwide News reported that Supreme Court Judge, Justice Althea Jarrett denied a request by lawyers for the Prime Minister to strike out a section of the IC’s affidavit which contained commentary concerning his 2018 statutory declarations which were eventually approved.
The prime minister’s lawyers made an appeal against the decision by the Supreme Court.
Nationwide News also understands that the Court of Appeal also lifted the stay of proceedings that had been imposed pending the outcome of the appeal.
This will allow for the prime minister’s judicial review challenging the commission’s investigation into his finances affairs to begin in the Supreme Court.
