Traffic will be temporarily restricted on several roads in Dushanbe from August 1 due to rehearsals for a military parade marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, the city’s Traffic Police Department has announced.
The restrictions will remain in place until rehearsals are completed. The authorities have not specified when the preparations will end.
Traffic will be restricted every day except Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on the following sections:
- from the interchange on Roudaki Avenue toward S. Nosir Street;
- from the roundabout at the intersection of Karamov Street and Hofiz Sherozi Avenue, near “Tovus”, to the turn from Hofiz Sherozi Avenue toward Nazarov Street, near Navrouzgoh.
Drivers have been advised to take the restrictions into account when planning their journeys and to use alternative routes.
Tajikistan has begun preparations for a military parade to mark the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
A meeting on the organization of the parade was recently held at the Ministry of Defense and chaired by Security Council Secretary Yusuf Rahmon.
The meeting was attended by senior Defense Ministry officials, representatives of law enforcement and security agencies, commanders of branches of the Armed Forces, and regional, city and district officials.
Participants discussed personnel readiness, drill training, rehearsal arrangements and coordination between military units. Officials responsible for organizing the event were instructed to intensify preparations.
Mass processions involving representatives of government bodies, ministries, agencies, organizations and institutions are also planned in regional, city and district administrative centers as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
