The Australian government has lodged a strong protest with the French government following another nuclear test at Moruroa Atoll.The explosion was the third tis year and the 55th since underground testing began at the atoll in 1975.

Air Marshall Island has made its second international from Majuro to Funafuti, Tuvalu with a stop in Tarawa, Kiribati. Nauru Phosphate Company chartered the plane to replace laborers at Funafuti.

Air Marshall Islands will be continuing its Honolulu DC-8 service with a new operating agreement with an Arrow Air jet, according to AMI’s commercial director acting GM David Tejada.

A series of talks, slide shows and demonstrations on seaweed growing last week has sparked enough interest among the Cabinet, outer islands mayors, and government agency heads to push the initiation of the project in the Marshall Islands, said the head of the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority Danny Wase.

P17 Peace Corps evaluates RMI role
Peace Corps has launched a review of its program in the Marshall Islands that could affect the future of the more than 25-year-old program. Marshalls Peace Corps Director Keekee Minor said she’s seen dissatisfaction among volunteers over their assignments in part because they feel they are not well utilized. Half of the current group were early terminations, meaning they left before their two-year contract was completed.
