Traffic arrangements for carnival events at National Cricket Stadium

The Traffic Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) notifies the general public that the following traffic arrangements will be in effect for all carnival shows scheduled at the National Cricket Stadium.

All vehicular traffic entering the National Stadium will use Queen’s Park Road from its intersection with Cherry Hill or the Stadium Ring Road. Also, the Hump Back Bridge at the intersection of River Road public road.

NO ENTRY

No vehicular traffic will be allowed to enter the following areas:

  • Stadium compound from Mt Gay/Mt. Rush direction
  • Old Fort Public Road from its junction with Lucas Street
  • Cemetery Hill from its junction with Church Street
  • Stadium Ring Road from its junction with Mt Rush Public Road in the direction of Humpback Bridge

NO PARKING

  • The entire ring road around the National Stadium
  • River Road from its junction with La Qua Brothers Crematorium to Purcell’s Lumber Yard
  • Cherry Hill Public Road from Grenada Welders to its junction with Melville Street
  • Melville Street from its intersection with ‘Keep Left’ Roundabout to the exit of Rubis Gas Station
  • Cemetery Hill
  • Mt Rush Public Road

NB: Any spillover parking will be on one side of the Stadium Ring Road opposite to PetroCaribe and Grenlec.

VVIP/VIP PARKING

  • A portion of the Wesley College ground
  • Artistes, vendors, police officers and workers will be allowed to park at Gate 6

PUBLIC PARKING

  • Kirani James Athletic Stadium car park
  • Wesley College Ground
  • Bus Terminus
  • Ariza Car Park
  • Old Trafford
  • Tanteen Playing Field

ONE WAY

At the conclusion of all events, vehicles will only be allowed to travel on the following roads in one direction as stated hereunder:

  • River Road public road towards De Caul roundabout
  • Mt Rush public road towards Mt Gay
  • Mortley Hill towards Sans Souci
  • The intersection of the Stadium Ring Road with Mt Rush Public Road towards the direction of the Humpback Bridge

EMERGENCY ROUTE

All emergency vehicles will travel along Cemetery Hill, Lucas Street, Church Street, Grand Etang Road unto the General Hospital.
