PAKATAN Harapan (PH) Negeri Sembilan chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun says public support for the coalition has strengthened in the closing days of the state election campaign, reflecting growing voter confidence in its record of governance and performance.
The Negeri Sembilan caretaker Menteri Besar said campaign engagements and feedback from voters had been highly encouraging, giving PH confidence as the state heads towards polling day.
“Alhamdulillah, the response has been very good and it shows that in these final days of the campaign, everything appears much brighter.
“Although people here are comfortable and familiar with my presence in the constituency, I still respect the democratic process.
“The final decision remains in the hands of the people when they cast their votes,” he said in Port Dickson today.
Aminuddin said the favourable response to PH’s manifesto stemmed from the coalition’s decision to focus its campaign on its governing record over the past eight years rather than launching personal attacks against political opponents.
He said voters had responded positively to a campaign centred on facts, achievements and future plans instead of confrontation.
“Our campaign approach is different. We explain what we have achieved over the past eight years.
“At first, I was somewhat concerned because we did not adopt the approach of attacking or countering the arguments of our opponents.
“However, I can see that the people are actually tired of politics driven by hatred, racial sentiments and the spread of slander.
“Today, voters are more inclined to remain neutral and make their judgments based on facts,” he said.
He said PH had also prioritised educating voters about their democratic rights, stressing that the electorate alone holds the power to evaluate leaders and determine the state’s future through the ballot box.
On PH’s decision to name him as its Menteri Besar candidate ahead of the election, Aminuddin said he regarded the endorsement as a solemn responsibility rather than a personal accolade.
“I thank them. In truth, whenever there is praise, I become concerned because this is a great trust to carry.
“The expectations are very high and, as a leader, it is certainly not easy. There are many trials, challenges and tests.
“Sometimes, excessive praise is also something that makes me fearful and reminds me to remain humble,” he said.
Nevertheless, Aminuddin said PH’s decision to announce its Menteri Besar candidate earlier than rival coalitions reflected the alliance’s political maturity and confidence in offering voters certainty and stable leadership ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election. – July 30, 2026
