Katie Miller has attempted to play down her former seemingly close relationship with Dr. Anthony Fauci as she now attacks the infectious disease expert who led the response to COVID-19.

Miller, a conservative podcaster and wife of Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, has called for Fauci to be jailed over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, and mocked his decision to invoke the Fifth Amendment and decline to answer questions at a Senate hearing Wednesday.

After Fauci’s diaries were published this weekend by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Miller celebrated as she suggested the scientist had been exposed.

Miller said on X that the diaries showed Fauci wanted to “cast himself as the hero, as famous, as the savior.”

One of the entries, which has since been redacted, implies that she and Fauci were close at the height of the pandemic, when Miller was the top communications aide to then-Vice President Mike Pence.

“I am calling katie frequently to check on her couple time per day. She is very anxious about getting very ill since she is 10 weeks pregnant. Tonight she had an anxiety reaction. I calmed her over the phone,” Fauci wrote in a May 9, 2020, entry, one of many that mention Katie Miller.

On Wednesday, NOTUS published comments from Miller denying that she and Fauci were friends and claiming that the doctor was merely “a work colleague who called me for work purposes, and in the course of a phone call, you would discuss other things.”

She also suggested the friendly nature of their conversations was part of a plan the Millers developed so Fauci “did not leak against me or my husband.”

“I understood who he was, and I understood how to manage somebody like him,” she said.
