Kiran Abbavaram is currently enjoying the success of Chennai Love Story, which has given fresh momentum to his career.

The young actor is now carefully planning his next move to make the most of the positive buzz surrounding him.

It is already known that the shooting of his directorial debut has been completed.

Initially, the makers were reportedly planning a Deepavali release. However, according to industry sources, the release is now likely to be pushed to the Sankranthi season.

The reason behind the reported change is the film’s commercial appeal.

Sources say it is a full-fledged entertainer, and Kiran Abbavaram believes its family-oriented content and festive flavour make it a better fit for Sankranthi than Deepavali.

However, the Sankranthi box office is expected to be highly competitive.

Films starring Venkatesh under Anil Ravipudi’s direction and Ravi Teja in a project backed by Dil Raju are expected to arrive during the festival season.

Also reportedly in the race are Nagarjuna’s King 100, though an official update is still awaited, Chiranjeevi’s film with Bobby, Sharwanand’s upcoming project and the Telugu-dubbed version of Suriya’s 47th film.

With several major releases expected, Kiran Abbavaram appears to be taking a calculated risk.

It remains to be seen whether his festive gamble will help him emerge as one of the winners at the crowded Sankranthi box office.
