Dramatic BTS shots from Malta’s latest filming locations have emerged… and they’re as explosive and dusty as you’d expect from a series about the last moments of Pompeii.

Pompeii: Out Of Time is a new National Geographic and Disney+ docudrama, releasing this Friday 31st July, exploring the infamous destruction of the ancient Roman city in 79 AD. According to production details released online, around 65% of it was filmed in Malta. The three-part production is narrated by Hollywood’s very own Tom Hiddleston, and some 167 Maltese crew members were involved in the production across different sectors.

Yesterday, more shots from the filming were shared by members of the local crew, and it looks like it’s going to be an action-packed production worthy of the historically dramatic ending to the Roman city.
