What to expect in episode 6
Expect Rhaenyra’s hold on King’s Landing to prove more fragile than even she expected as Ormund Hightower continues advancing Daeron as a rival claimant. Opposition inside the capital also appears to be growing, and multiple military campaigns are moving toward critical turning points.
Look out for major fallout from the events of episode 5, including the continuing struggle for control of King’s Landing, the evolving relationship between Aemond Targaryen and Alys Rivers at Harrenhal, and the growing influence of Daeron as the Greens search for new ways to strengthen their position. The conflict in the Riverlands appears ready to intensify, while both factions face mounting political instability that could prove just as dangerous as any dragon battle.

What happened in season 3, episode 5?
Spoiler-alert: Episode 5, titled “Unbowed and Unbent,” further complicated the war after Rhaenyra’s recent successes. Several storylines moved into dangerous territory as both sides grappled with fractured leadership and growing unrest.
Criston Cole’s Riverlands campaign continued to deteriorate despite early tactical victories. His forces mounted nighttime raids and destroyed crossings to slow the Rivermen and Winter Wolves, but growing losses left the Green army increasingly vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Rhaenyra’s rule in King’s Landing showed signs of strain. Daemon became more focused on solving the murders of loyal Gold Cloaks than pursuing Aemond, creating new tensions inside the Black faction. Questions about loyalty and leadership continued to haunt the queen’s council.
At Harrenhal, Aemond remained under the care of Alys Rivers while recovering from injuries and struggling with visions and prophecies about his future. Alicent and Helaena also found themselves facing increasingly desperate circumstances as their position within the Red Keep became more precarious.
