Gardabani Reviews Long-Term Development Strategy

Within the framework of the process, a public discussion of the long-term development strategic document was held in Gardabani Municipality. The mayor of the municipality, Davit Kargareteli, presented the long-term development strategic projects to the population in detail.

The Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia shared the glimpses of the discussion session on itd official Facebook Page on July 24, 2026, Friday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.

The strategic document prepared by the local government places special emphasis on the complete regulation of road and water infrastructure, which remains one of the major challenges for the region. In addition, increasing access to preschool and secondary education, creating an educational environment up to modern standards and maximizing the local economic and tourism potential, which will contribute to creating new jobs and promoting the overall socio-economic promotion of the Municipality.

The elaboration of the long-term development strategy in municipalities is carried out by the instruction of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, and the coordination of the process is provided by the Ministry of Regional Development.

The Municipality’s Long-term Development Strategy represents a long-term vision of local development that is directly based on the needs and priorities of the population.

The main goal of the strategy is the sustainable, coherent and result-oriented development of the municipality.

The meeting was attended by Zurab Iashvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development of Georgia, State Trustee Ilia Jalaghania in Lower Kartli, Chairman of the City Council of Gargabani Municipality Mikheil Gedekhauri, representatives of the self-government and local people.
