🚨 A Ringwood man now faces child endangerment and drug charges

WILDWOOD — Police administered Nalaxone to a 2-year-old being taken to a hospital on Monday.

Alexander T. Moles, 39, of Ringwood was driving the toddler to a hospital because he was having trouble breathing, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland. First responders administered two doses of Nalaxone, aka Narcan, and brought him to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. A blood test on the child came back positive for cocaine.

Court documents show Noles was staying at an Airnb with a woman and other children and was getting ready to check out at 11 a.m. While the woman took a shower it was Noles responsibility to watch the children. When the woman got out of the shower she noticed the child was sleepy.

On the way to the hospital, the Noles called the woman and asked if it was okay if the child fell asleep. She told him it was not and called 911. Noles told police that he thought the child had taken “pain killers.” At the hospital Noles requested a lawyer after being read his Miranda.

Search of Airbnb leads to drug charges

A judge ordered a search of his hotel room where officers found a partial pill that was orange and white, several tinfoil packets labeled “tapentadol hydrochloride,” a clear plastic bag holding a white powdery substance and several short plastic straws.

Police did not disclose the relationship between the adults and the child.

Moles was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the second degree; one count of possession of cocaine, a crime of the third degree; one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense; and one count of possession of prescription legend drugs. He was held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility but released at a detention hearing. Moles is represented by attorney John Zarych.
