Nga accuses PN of fuelling division with racial rhetoric, calls for more inclusive politics | Malaysia

DAP deputy national chairman Nga Kor Ming has criticised what he described as Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) reliance on racial sentiments and alleged defamatory tactics, claiming the approach risks undermining Malaysia’s multiracial fabric.

Nga said the issue arose following several statements by senior PAS leaders which he claimed contained racial undertones and had the potential to create divisions among communities.

He singled out PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang over remarks allegedly referring to DAP supporters from various ethnic backgrounds as “pendatang” (immigrants), describing such a characterisation as racist and outdated.

Nga also criticised PAS election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over statements he claimed could damage inter-racial relations and threaten national unity.

He said the alleged use of inflammatory rhetoric, misinformation and attempts to create hostility between communities represented a form of toxic politics that could weaken social cohesion and disrupt the country’s progress.

With police reports already lodged over the matter, Nga called on the authorities to investigate and take appropriate action to protect Malaysia’s unity and stability.

He also urged voters, particularly in Negeri Sembilan, to reject politics based on racial division and instead support leaders who prioritise economic development, good governance and the wellbeing of all Malaysians regardless of ethnicity or background. – July 26, 2026
