MANZINI– Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says Her Majesty the Queen Mother has every reason to take pride in the remarkable growth of Philani MaSwati, which has evolved from humble beginnings into a formidable humanitarian organisation that has transformed countless lives across the Kingdom.
Addressing guests during the 10th edition of the Eswatini Biggest Braai at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Saturday, Dlamini said the milestone reflected the success of the Queen Mother’s vision and the unwavering commitment of Philani MaSwati to serving vulnerable emaSwati.
“I have no doubt that the Vision Bearer, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, looks upon this occasion with great pride,” he said. “From its humble beginnings, Philani MaSwati has grown into a formidable humanitarian organisation, touching countless lives and embodying the spirit of Emakhosi – the spirit of Nkwe: resilience, courage, compassion and service to humanity.”
The Prime Minister, who became the first Head of Government to attend the Biggest Braai, described it as an honour to be part of the organisation’s 10th anniversary celebrations. He said Philani MaSwati had become a shining example of how compassion, unity and partnerships could uplift communities while complementing government’s efforts to care for vulnerable members of society.
Dlamini also expressed confidence that the organisation would one day achieve its ambition of earning a place in the Guinness World Records, saying its determination and the spirit of Nkwe had already laid a strong foundation for that achievement.
He commended the business community and development partners, including Embiveni Meat Industries, for their continued support, saying their contributions had enabled the organisation to expand its humanitarian work and positively impact many lives.
The Prime Minister further appealed to more emaSwati, companies, churches and organisations to support the initiative, saying there was still room for many more partners to join the noble cause.
Government, he said, appreciated the critical role played by Philani MaSwati in complementing national development efforts and would continue exploring ways of supporting such initiatives as the country’s fiscal position improved.
Dlamini thanked all those who attended the Biggest Braai and encouraged them to enjoy the celebrations while embracing the spirit of generosity, unity and Agape love that defines Philani MaSwati. He said the event had grown into more than just a fundraising activity, becoming a symbol of compassion and hope for vulnerable citizens across the country.
