Critics Cringe Over Trump Moment That Seems To Go On And On And On

Seemingly never-ending applause for Donald Trump at an Environmental Protection Agency event on Thursday drew widespread mockery on social media.

The president arrived to unveil the Ratepayer Protection Pledge on artificial intelligence data centers as Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” played over the sound system.

After greeting everyone onstage, the president stood behind his seat while attendees applauded for more than 70 seconds. The clapping continued until the song ended, at which point Trump finally sat down.

At the end of the event, Trump was again applauded for almost a full minute, without the music backing, as he left the stage.

Critics on X said the lengthy ovations gave them North Korea vibes, mocking that they were the kind of scenes more commonly associated with dictators.
