CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- For the first time in their history, Edgeley will play at a Legion State Tournament.
A five-run fifth inning overturned a three-run deficit as Post 146 defeated LAW Rattlers 5-3 in Carrington on Wednesday to win the District IV Championship one year after falling to the Rattlers.
Avery Brokaw opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning for LAW and they added to the lead in the fourth as Caleb Kosiak and Koltyn Vetter delivered singles that each scored a run to make it 3-0.
In the fifth, the script flipped, as the first eight Edgeley batters reached on five hits and two errors. Ross Fredenburg delivered a two-run single and from there, Brady Hanson took over. The right hander earned the win with only eight pitches needed to record the final six outs.
Edgeley will learn the Class B Legion bracket later this week and all games from Lisbon will be heard on KDDR The Tornado.
