From building engineering projects to developing leadership skills, Clemson 4-H is giving young people across Williamsburg County opportunities to learn by doing.

The Clemson Cooperative Extension 4-H program serves youth ages 4 to 17, offering hands-on experiences that help participants explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), health, agriculture, civic engagement and community service. Through clubs, camps, school enrichment programs and special events, students gain practical skills while building confidence and making lasting friendships.

The Williamsburg County 4-H Engineers Summer Day Camp welcomed youth ages 9 to 13 for three days of interactive engineering challenges. Campers designed and built creative projects, explored STEM concepts, participated in healthy living activities and enjoyed indoor and outdoor recreation. The camp saw an excellent turnout, reflecting the growing interest in hands-on learning opportunities throughout the county.

Beyond summer camps, Clemson 4-H continues to partner with local schools to provide enrichment programs that introduce students to new subjects and career pathways while reinforcing classroom instruction. The organization encourages young people to become active members of their communities through service projects, teamwork and leadership experiences.

Development Agent Stevie Griffen expressed gratitude to the parents who allowed their children to participate in the program, saying the experience will provide valuable life skills beyond the classroom.
