MBABANE – Women in Eswatini are set to gain advanced digital skills in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Development and IT Operations through a UAE-supported programme aimed at preparing them for opportunities in the digital economy.
This follows the virtual introductory session of the Digital Academy for Empowering African Women in Digital Transformation, where Eswatini joined other African countries in launching the first training cohort of the empowerment programme.
Minister of Information, Communications and Technology Senator Savannah Maziya represented Eswatini during the “Leaders Talk – Empowering Women Through Digital Transformation” session, where she shared the country’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and creating opportunities for women through technology.
The programme is an initiative of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Women’s Union and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), aimed at strengthening women’s digital capabilities and increasing their participation in technology and innovation.
Through the academy, selected participants from Eswatini will access specialised learning pathways in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Development and IT Operations.
The training is designed to equip women with practical skills needed to support digital transformation initiatives, improve organisational performance and contribute to sustainable development.
The Digital Academy provides a platform for professionals, public sector employees, educational institutions and organisations to develop digital competencies through high-quality training programmes.
The initiative forms part of the UAE’s commitment to empowering women and promoting an inclusive digital future by ensuring that women have access to the knowledge and skills required in a rapidly changing technological environment.
For Eswatini, the programme presents an opportunity to strengthen digital skills among women and support the country’s efforts towards building a technology-driven economy.
The academy also offers training content in multiple languages, including English, French, Arabic and Portuguese, allowing participants from different backgrounds across Africa to access the learning opportunities.
