The prominent Egyptian composer Hany Shenouda passed away at the age of 83, with the news of his death announced by media personality Mahmoud Saad.

Saad wrote on his page: “Goodbye, Uncle Hany.. A beautiful, genuine artist.. He brought us so much joy and has now passed on. Farewell, Hany Shenouda.. and thank you for everything you provided.. My deepest condolences to his family and to all his fans.”
Hany Shenouda was an Egyptian composer and arranger who discovered numerous Egyptian vocal talents. He was a pioneer credited with forming the first music band in Egypt.
Born in Tanta during the Kingdom of Egypt in 1943, Hany Shenouda graduated from the Faculty of Music in 1966 and later attended the Higher Institute of Music (Conservatoire).
