Vanuatu Targets Global Hotel Investment

Vanuatu has strengthened its push to attract international tourism investment after holding talks with one of the world’s leading hotel brands, Radisson, during the Asia-Pacific Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE) Fiji 2026.

The meeting was part of Vanuatu’s participation at the conference in Nadi, where the country’s delegation promoted investment opportunities in tourism, hospitality and infrastructure.

Principal Tourism Investment Officer at the Department of Tourism, Mark Kalotap, said the event gave Vanuatu a valuable opportunity to introduce the country to global hotel investors.

“The conference gave us the opportunity to generate interest from Radisson about establishing in Vanuatu. We also met several other international hotel brands that could become interested in investing here in the future.”

Mr Kalotap said although attending international conferences comes at a cost, the long-term benefits outweigh the expenses.

“The biggest benefit is putting Vanuatu on the global tourism investment map. We become part of an international tourism development network and create opportunities to attract future investment.”

During the conference, Vanuatu promoted opportunities in hotel development, marina projects and aviation investment while meeting with several global hospitality brands, including Radisson and Hilton.

The Department of Tourism believes participation in events such as AHICE will help attract quality tourism investment, strengthen industry partnerships and support the long-term growth of Vanuatu’s tourism sector.
