UPESSC releases assistant professor syllabus for 2,107 vacancies | Prayagraj News


Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has stepped up preparations for fresh recruitment in aided higher educational institutions by releasing the subject-wise written examination syllabus for Assistant Professor posts. The move comes soon after the commission issued the syllabus for the written examination for principals and headmasters of aided secondary schools, enabling aspirants to begin preparations well in advance.The Higher Education Department has already submitted requisitions for 2,107 Assistant Professor vacancies and 111 Principal posts through the online portal. With the requisitions now in place and the syllabus notified, the commission is expected to issue the recruitment advertisement shortly.According to Deputy Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, the syllabus has been released for 44 subjects in accordance with the requisitions received. However, recruitment will be conducted for 43 subjects as poultry-related posts have been included under the Livestock and Dairy Development discipline. The syllabus for language subjects has been published in the respective languages, while the syllabus for all other subjects has been released in English. Candidates have been advised to prepare according to the revised examination pattern available on the commission’s website.The commission has also clarified the structure of the written examination. Each subject paper will comprise 120 objective-type questions carrying three marks each. The number of questions related to general knowledge will be finalised separately. A detailed subject-wise syllabus and examination pattern have been uploaded on the commission’s official website.The commission has also outlined the examination pattern for the recruitment of principals. The written test will consist of 120 objective questions divided into two sections. The first section will contain 40 general knowledge questions drawn from three units, with at least three questions from each unit. The second section will comprise 80 questions assessing administrative aptitude, prepared from seven units with a minimum of five questions from each. Each question will carry three marks, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response, introducing negative marking. Of the administrative aptitude questions, 50% will be of an easy level, 30% difficult and the remaining 20% highly difficult, the commission said.
