Prague’s Hybernia Theatre is hosting a series of special evenings dedicated to classical ballet, bringing together some of the most celebrated scenes from the world’s best-known productions.

The performance will feature students and graduates of the conservatory, presenting excerpts from legendary ballets including Don Quixote, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Le Corsaire.

Rather than focusing on a single full-length production, the gala will offer audiences the opportunity to experience highlights from several major works in one evening.

The young dancers will perform in specially prepared costumes and under the guidance of experienced teachers, including former soloists of the National Theatre Ballet. The artistic concept and dramaturgy of the evening are overseen by Pamela Morávková and Jiří Horák.

The programme will combine the dramatic energy of Don Quixote, the romantic atmosphere of Swan Lake, the fantasy world of The Nutcracker, the fairy-tale elegance of Sleeping Beauty, and the adventure of Le Corsaire.

Founded in 1945, the Prague Dance Conservatory is the oldest and largest institution of its kind in the Czech Republic. Over eight decades, the school has educated generations of dancers, choreographers, ballet masters and teachers who have performed on stages in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Its students regularly take part in international competitions and represent Czech dance at festivals and cultural events around the world.
