Uganda’s long-serving lawmaker and former Second Deputy Prime Minister, Moses Ali, has died at the age of 87, according to Ugandan media reports.
Ugandan television station NBS reported that Ali, who recently won re-election as Member of Parliament for Adjumani West County during the country’s general elections in January, had passed away.
Ali was a member of President Yoweri Museveni’s ruling National Resistance Movement party.
His recent election victory had attracted public discussion due to concerns over his advanced age.
NBS did not provide further details about the cause or circumstances of his death.
The Ugandan government has not yet issued official statement on his passing.
