IMD predicts rains in AP for next two days amid surface trough

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds blowing at 40 to 50 kmph in different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

As per the IMD, a trough runs from North Bihar to Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal to Northwest Bay of Bengal at 1.5 to 3.1 km height above mean sea level. Also, there has been the formation of a cyclonic circulation in the region adjacent to South Odisha at 5.8 km height.

According to the officials, the formation of these weather systems has resulted in the favorable weather conditions for rainfall in the Telugu states.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers can occur at some places in North Coastal and South Coastal Districts of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam today. Lightening and strong winds blowing at 40 to 50 kmph could occur at isolated places. The IMD further said that there is a chance of rainfall at one or two places on July 19 and 20.
