A manager at a struggling rural Irish radio station has revealed that regional broadcasters are censoring themselves to avoid upsetting Media Minister Patrick O’Donovan due to fears of losing crucial state funding.

In an exclusive interview with Gript, the anonymous media professional claimed there is a pervasive anxiety among local stations that criticising the government or asking challenging questions could jeopardise their finances.
