The transaction is scheduled to take place between July 22 and August 20 through matching and put-through orders.

Once the transaction is completed, Lam’s holdings will rise to more than 22.2 million VBB shares, equivalent to a 3.88-percent stake in the bank.

Meanwhile, Nguyen currently owns about 56 million VBB shares, or a 4.8-percent stake in the bank.

The move comes after nearly 1.08 billion VBB shares were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) on Tuesday.

For 2026, VietBank targets total assets of VND230 trillion ($8.7 billion), up nearly 17 percent from the beginning of the year.

Outstanding loans are projected to reach VND134 trillion ($5 billion), up 23.6 percent, while customer deposits are expected to increase nearly 24 percent to VND155 trillion ($5.9 billion).

The bank also aims to post a pre-tax profit of VND2.1 trillion ($80 million), up 37 percent from 2025.

In the first half of 2026, VietBank reported a pre-tax profit of VND923 billion ($35 million), up over 79 percent year on year. Its net interest income inched up 26 percent to VND1.747 trillion ($66.5 million).

As of June 30, VietBank’s total assets exceeded VND205 trillion ($7.8 billion), up more than four percent from the start of the year.
