Prayagraj: Seventeen passengers had a narrow escape after a private bus caught fire following a collision with a divider near Dharwara village on the Karchana-Kohdar route on Wednesday, police said.DCP (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Chandra Yadav said the bus was travelling from Koraon to Prayagraj with 17 passengers on board when it hit a divider and caught fire.“All passengers managed to get off the bus safely before the fire spread. However, the vehicle was completely gutted before fire tenders could bring the blaze under control,” he said.According to the bus driver, the vehicle’s steering suddenly locked, causing him to lose control and crash into the divider. The impact allegedly triggered a spark, which led to the fire.A joint team from the police and fire department has launched an investigation into the incident. Vehicular movement on the route was affected for about an hour following the accident.
