Pelicans have Summer League winning streak snapped | Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans had their modest two-game Summer League win streak snapped Wednesday with an 82-77 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Las Vegas.

New Orleans (2-2) was led in scoring by Markquis Nowell with 20 points in 24 minutes. Nowell was 3 of 13 from the field, including 2 of 11 from 3-point range. Chris Bell added 12 points and Christian Shumate chipped in eight points and nine rebounds for the Pelicans, who led 33-31 at halftime.

Free agent signee Solomon Washington, a former Carver High star, had five points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

Pelicans second-round draft pick Jaron Pierre did not play.

Cleveland (2-2) was led by Malaki Branham with 23 points.

Next action for New Orleans, which will be determined based on their performance in the first four games, has not been set. It will be either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
