On the 15th May, 2026 around 10:30 a.m. truck #T8132, Blue Isuzu dump, picked (up) lengths of wood from Gravel & Concrete Garage and was transported to a construction site in Willis, St George’s….

This was part of a report sent by an employee of Gravel & Concrete to a senior member of Management on another act of alleged wrong-doing at the state-owned body.

The report which was obtained by THE NEW TODAY charged that the construction board which was purchased from a local lumber yard was loaded onto the truck by employees of the company and dispatched to the home of a female employee in the St George North-east constituency.

A staffer left the compound and secretly video-taped the truck as it left the compound and followed it to its final destination.

The staffer and other colleagues alleged that material belonging to the company left the place to do private work at the home of a female employee.

General Manager Arthur Ollivierre was contacted on the issue and denied that any wrongdoing took place.

He said: “If the employees who are sending the information (to THE NEW TODAY) are honest and being truthful and not being malicious, they would have told you that the whole roof of the Garage was just redone.

“We had an outside Contractor doing that work. When the Contractor came, we purchased all the materials – galvanise, screws, paints and everything for the roof’s repairs.

“We have scaffolding – we set up our scaffolding. We did not have the platforms for the scaffolding. The Contractor that was doing the roof went and he bought his 8 pieces of lumber so that he can use it for his men to stand up on to execute the job.

“On completion of the works, the gentleman came and removed his lumber. That’s the lumber in question. That is the lumber they’re talking about with the truck removing lumber.

“The material was never Gravel & Concrete own –The Contractor bought his material to use for his men to stand up on to change the roof. The gentleman took his material – what he did with it after I don’t know.”

The workers are disputing Ollivierre’s version of what took place on the day with the removal of the lumber.

According to one employee, the Contractor was not on site and that the instruction to load the lumber onto the truck was given by a senior member of the Management Team whose name has often been called in connection with a number of questionable activities at the corporation.

THE NEW TODAY was told that this particular staffer has been accused in the past of personally benefiting from the alleged pilfering of a number of assets belonging to the company.

The employee said that the normal procedure followed is that Gravel & Concrete will hire a Contractor to do its work but the company will always purchase all the material.

“So how come the Contractor material reached here? What connection the Contractor has with the said employee that the material dropped (off) in Willis by (her) home? (Name withheld) and they feel they’re talking to fools.”

Checks made revealed that the truck which transported the lumber from Gravel & Concrete to the Willis location is owned by an employee of the company.

Within minutes of the video with the truck dropping off the lumber in Willis being leaked into the public domain, there was a flurry of activities at the main office of Gravel & Concrete by a section of the Management that the workers have labelled as “The Gang of Five” that is running the state body.

There are reports that these five often hold meetings and exclude several other members of the Management Team.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gravel & Concrete, Canadian-based diplomat Sylvester Quarless told senior members of the ruling Congress party that the board belonged to the Contractor and not the company.

A few workers were called into a room Tuesday and questioned on whether they had anything to do with the leak of the video to THE NEW TODAY.

One member of the management team asked a staffer attached to the Garage if he had leaked the video to a Director.

Speculation is rife about bitter disagreements among Directors on alleged wrongdoings at the company with one in particular often being accused of leaking confidential information to the media.

Over the years, several reports have surfaced about a number of alleged wrongdoings at the company by Board Members, as well as Management personnel and Staffers.
