The domestic stock market opened with strong gains on Friday, July 10. In the last trading session of the week, the BSE Sensex opened with a sharp gain of 653.81 points (0.85%) at 77,395.63. The NSE Nifty 50 index opened with a gain of 161.90 points (0.68%) at 24,124.70. On Friday, most of the stocks listed on both the Sensex and Nifty 50 opened in the green.
Shares of 47 out of 50 companies on the Nifty 50 opened in the green
Shares of 28 out of 30 companies on the Sensex opened in the green today, with gains, while only one company—UltraTech Cement—opened in the red. Adani Ports shares remained unchanged. On the other hand, shares of 47 out of 50 Nifty 50 companies opened in the green with gains, while the remaining three companies opened in the red with losses. Among the Sensex companies, shares of Infosys, the country’s second-largest IT company, opened with the highest gain of 3.17 percent. Meanwhile, shares of AltaTech Cement, a leading cement company, opened with a decline of 0.08 percent.
Rise in IT Shares
Among other Sensex companies, TCS shares rose 3.04 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.72 percent, Trent 1.36 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.34 percent, Indigo 1.30 percent, Reliance Industries 1.18 percent, Tata Steel 1.14 percent, Bajaj Finserv 1.07 percent, Bajaj Finance 1.06 percent, and Asian Paints 1.03 percent.

Apart from these, shares of Eternal fell by 0.96 percent, L&T by 0.92 percent, Titan by 0.71 percent, SBI by 0.71 percent, Power Grid by 0.66 percent, Maruti Suzuki by 0.60 percent, ITC by 0.60 percent, NTPC by 0.57 percent, ICICI Bank by 0.54 percent, HDFC Bank by 0.54 percent, Hindustan Unilever by 0.50 percent, BEL by 0.48 percent, Sun Pharma by 0.47 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank by 0.30 percent, Axis Bank by 0.22 percent, and Bharti Airtel by 0.08 percent.
