After a wonderful weekend in Seward enjoying the Mount Marathon race and the people, I was watching TV news and was reminded of how history repeats itself. President Trump, during his address celebrating our nation’s anniversary, called Democrats communists and said our country will never be taken over by the communists. Joe McCarthy, as he bashed communism in the early 1950s, couldn’t have said it better.
And then I watched as 400 white guys in identical uniforms, with white masks and blue caps, rode into D.C. and marched in unison on the square carrying flags, including the Confederate flag. They reminded me of the Ku Klux Klan down South in the old days.
Oh well. Our world.
