Today, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision declaring July 11, 2026, the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica, as the Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Day of Mourning is marked by the obligatory display of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, i.e. mast, on the buildings of legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public institutions, institutions and other legal entities in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Media houses in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to harmonize and adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning.
It is reasoned that this decision is made to express condolences and sympathize with the families of the victims, for the sake of remembering this tragic event.
