Peru’s President-elect, Keiko Fujimori, received a congratulatory letter from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who expressed her desire to continue strengthening bilateral relations.

“On July 5, Ms. Takaichi Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Ms. Keiko Sofia Fujimori Higuchi, President-elect of Peru,” the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

“In this letter, Prime Minister Takaichi extended her congratulations to President-elect Fujimori and expressed her desire to work together to further develop the excellent relationship between the two countries,” it added.

Within this framework, Xi said he stands ready to work with Fujimori to steer the comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

In recent days the president-elect has also received congratulations from the leaders of Costa Rica, Laura Fernandez; Honduras, Nasry Asfura; Argentina, Javier Milei; Panama, Jose Raul Mulino; and Uruguay, Yamandu Orsi, among other authorities.

It is worth recalling that the credentials ceremony for the president-elect will take place on June 15, as announced by JNE Chairman Roberto Burneo.
