INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis nonprofit REC Haven will host its third annual Family Fun Fair on Saturday, July 11.
The free community event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gray Road Baptist Church, 5500 S. Gray Rd., in Indianapolis.
REC Haven, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit, aims to prevent childhood crises through a consistent safe presence and early intervention. Organizers say its mission involves providing refuge, encouragement, and care to youth and families through educational support, mentorship, outreach programs, and community connections.
The organization works with children, young people, and families across Central Indiana.

Founder Katelyn Puckett joined Daybreak Monday morning to discuss that mission and the weekend’s events.
She says the Family Fun Fair is designed to bring families together while connecting them with local businesses, nonprofits, and resources available throughout the community.
“It’s so needed because the kids feed off of the parents, and when the parents are stressed, it does reflect in different areas of the kids’ lives. We want to be able to help those kids learn to process all of that and also help the parents at the same time,” Puckett said.
People who go on Saturday can enjoy local vendors, food trucks, children’s activities, and a scavenger hunt. The fair will also offer community resources, giveaways, a silent auction, and a “Pay What You Can” Clothing Drive.

Puckett says every bag of clothing helps a family in our community. Whether it’s a few outfits your child has outgrown or a closet cleanout, your donation can make a real difference.
REC Haven also operates a program called Birthday Bundles, which provides birthday celebrations, gifts, and special moments for children who might otherwise go without.
