In Samtredia municipality, works on sports infrastructure development are actively underway. In recent years, nearly 40 sports facilities – mini football and sports fields, as well as a swimming pool – have been set up and made available to the residents in different districts of the municipality.
The Samtredia Municipality City Hall shared glimpses of the construction works on its official Facebook Page on July 2, 2026, Thursday. The City Hall of Samtredia Municipality also shared a small note about the works along with its glimpses.
This time, on Youth Street, near the so-called “Insect Lake”, a new mini football field was set up at the request of the population. The space will bring the population of several densely populated neighborhoods together and offer another modern environment for children and young people to promote healthy lifestyles.
Within the framework of the opening of the new sports space, the mayor of Samtredia municipality, David Bakhtadze, opened the tournament named after Tedo Kakulia, which was held with the participation of local people, and wished the participants good luck.
The mayor also noted that the municipality has important plans for the development of the “Insect Lake” area. This location is one of the most attractive recreational spaces and will be further developed in the future with the interests of both locals and visitors of the municipality.
The development process of sports infrastructure continues in the municipality. Currently, the works of arranging sports fields are actively underway on Rukhadze and Galaktioni streets as well.
