ASHLAND, Ky. (FOX 56) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for 19-year-old Marly Kinney, who was found dead at Grayson Lake days after she was reported missing.
Kinney disappeared on June 24 after she did not return with a group of friends who had rented a pontoon boat at Grayson Lake. Her body was recovered on Sunday, June 28, following a multiday search.

Now, the Boyd County family prepares to lay her to rest.
According to Preston Family Funeral Home, funeral services will take place at noon on Friday, July 3, at Cannonsburg Trinity Community Church. Burial will follow at Fannin Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Kinney was a member of Cannonsburg Trinity Community Church, according to her obituary. A 2024 graduate of Boyd County High School, she was attending Ashland Community and Technical College, where she earned a place on the President’s List.
She was also active in 4-H from the age of 10 and served on the Boyd County 4-H Teen Council.
Kinney worked at Smokin’ J’s Ribs and Brewhouse, where co-workers remembered her for her kindness.
“Marly was a model employee loved by all. Always with a friendly smile and a kind word. She was loved by her fellow co-workers and friends, Many who have been volunteering over these last few days. We are making arrangements to provide grief counseling to our staff starting tomorrow,” the restaurant wrote on social media. “Our love and prayers go out to Marlys’ family and friends through this tragic loss.”
To help cover funeral expenses, Kinney’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign.
“We thank everyone who donates, anyone who even just shares, and everyone just supporting us through this time,” her sister, Willow VanHoose, wrote.
The fundraiser had raised more than $20,000.
