PSL orders abandoned Hardrock, Dynamos match to resume behind closed doors, fines both clubs US$10,000 each

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has ordered that the abandoned match between Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC be resumed from the point at which it was stopped, with the remaining 14 minutes to be played behind closed doors at a neutral venue.

Both clubs were also fined US$10,000 for causing the match’s abandonment.

The outcome of the fixture, which stood at 1-1 before it was stopped, will be determined only after the remaining 14 minutes have been played.

In a statement, the PSL said, “Accordingly, Hardrock FC has been fined US$10,000, of which US$2,000 is suspended for the remainder of the season on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence.

“Hardrock FC has also been ordered to play one home match behind closed doors.

“The club is also required to submit a revised Match Security Management Plan to the PSL CEO within 30 days.

“Dynamos FC has been fined US$10,000. The club has also been directed to submit a formal crowd management and stewarding plan to the PSL CEO within 30 days.

“The Disciplinary Committee further ordered that the remaining minutes of the abandoned Matchday 14 fixture between Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC be played behind closed doors at a neutral venue under the protocols of the PSL.”

Hardrock FC chief executive officer Kudzanai Hove has been suspended from all football-related activities for six months and fined an additional US$5,000 following the committee’s findings.

Hove was captured on video assaulting a fan during the chaos that followed the abandonment of the match.
