Post 25 Suffers Shutout Loss

CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- Bricker Johnson and Connor Dockter combined on a two-hit shutout on Tuesday as the May Port-CG Patriots defeated Carrington 7-0 in the final non-league game of the season for Post 25.

After Johnson and Post 25 starter Max Whitman matched zeroes through two innings, the Patriots broke through in the third, as Alex Aardsvold walked and Gunnar Beck singled before Johnson singled home a run and Samuel Weaver laced a two-run single to left for a 3-0 lead.

In the fourth, Aardsvold scored Kaden Hogfoss with a sacrifice fly and after a walk, a double steal saw Cade Judisch swipe home for a 5-0 lead.  Weaver then drove Dockter home in the fifth on a fielders’ choice for a 6-0 lead, and Hogfoss scored on a sixth inning wild pitch for the final run.

Meanwhile, Johnson tossed five innings and permitted only two hits while walking three and striking out nine, including Chuck Jorgensen and Blake Braaten with the bases loaded in the fourth, to pick up the win.  Isaiah Oatis doubled and Jameson Kutz singled for Carrington in defeat.

Post 25 return to District IV play on July 8th with a doubleheader at Kidder County with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal beginning at 4:50pm.
