A Lake Charles man was arrested Tuesday for sexual abuse against a teenage girl.

Detectives were dispatched to a local high school to meet with an alleged victim, who disclosed she was raped by a man, identified as 22-year-old Gerard O. Bazile of Lake Charles, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. The victim said the sexual abuse had been occurring since approximately 2017.

Authorities say the suspect confirmed the allegations to the detectives. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated crimes against nature.

His bond was set at $1.5 million.
