Cabinet has approved the reappointment of Mr Tafesilafa’i Ipiniu Filipo as General Manager of Samoa Shipping Services for a second term.
The decision reaffirms Cabinet’s confidence in his leadership and commitment to strengthening Samoa’s maritime transport services.
Mr Tafesilafa’i first became CEO of Samoa Shipping Services in 2023, after serving four years as Assistant General Manager from 2019 to 2023.
Before joining Samoa Shipping Services, he served as Assistant Chief Executive Officer for Regulatory and Consumer Services at the Office of the Regulator from 2013 to 2018.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Banking and Finance from the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji, which he obtained in 2006.
The Government says his experience in public administration and corporate management has contributed to the growth and operations of Samoa Shipping Services.
In congratulating Mr Tafesilafa’i on his reappointment, the Government said it looks forward to his continued leadership in delivering safe, reliable and efficient maritime services for the people of Samoa.
