The British government’s Arabic-language spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa, Jocelyn Waller, said she was visiting Egypt for the first time during a very important week for relations between Egypt and the United Kingdom.
In a video posted to her Instagram account, she added, “I arrived in Egypt today. The energy in the country is different, even the atmosphere is different.”
She explained, “Even as you step out of the airport, you feel the history everywhere, and also the kindness and generosity of the people. Truly, there is no place in the world like Egypt.”
Waller noted that she was coming to Egypt during a very important week for relations between the two countries and asked her followers which Egyptian dish she should try, requesting their suggestions, Youm 7 reported on Wednesday.
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is also visiting Egypt, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to visit soon.
