Uffizi suspends new ticket sales due to extreme heat

Florence’s flagship gallery, the Uffizi, has imposed an immediate halt on ticket sales, citing the impact of high temperatures on air conditioning systems. Existing bookings remain valid.

The management of the Gallerie degli Uffizi has announced the suspension of all new ticket sales with immediate effect, a measure that will remain in place until Sunday 28 June inclusive. The decision follows the exceptional temperatures currently affecting Florence, which have created technical constraints on the gallery’s air conditioning infrastructure.

Visitors who have already purchased tickets or made reservations are unaffected and may proceed with their visits as planned.

What is and isn’t accessible

Gallery of Statues and Paintings (main Uffizi galleries): entry restricted to visitors with pre-existing reservations only. No walk-in access.

Certain rooms may be subject to temporary capacity restrictions at the gallery’s discretion.

Accredited guides holding a card or ministerial badge are guaranteed entry when accompanying pre-booked individuals or groups.

Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens remain open and accessible as normal.

The Gallerie degli Uffizi has indicated that should conditions improve before the 28 June deadline, it will bring forward the resumption of ticket sales and open access accordingly.
