Tajikistan Football Federation opens new Technical Center in Varzob

A new Technical Center of the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) has officially opened in the Varzob district, marking another step in the development of football infrastructure in the country.

President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, who also serves as president of the Tajikistan Football Federation, attended the opening ceremony on June 23.

According to the president’s official website, the facility has been established to support the development of football in Tajikistan, including the training of players, coaches, referees, and other specialists, as well as the promotion of children’s, youth, and women’s football.

The new center occupies an area of 62,000 square meters and includes a wide range of sports and training facilities. Among them are two training football pitches with natural and artificial turf, a stadium, a sports arena, an indoor swimming pool, a tennis court, running tracks, and other sports grounds.

The complex also features an administrative building, a hotel, a restaurant, a café, conference halls, meeting rooms, and a modern fitness center.

Accommodation facilities include single, double, and luxury rooms designed for athletes, coaches, officials, and guests.

According to officials, the construction of the center was carried out with financial and technical support from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and domestic partners.

The project has also created 50 permanent jobs following its commissioning.

Expanding football infrastructure

The TFF said the opening of the center reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen football infrastructure and improve training opportunities for athletes and sports professionals across the country.

In recent years, Tajikistan has expanded its football infrastructure through the construction of new stadiums and football fields, the establishment of leagues for various age groups, and the creation of football schools and academies.

Authorities have also sought to improve the training system for coaches, referees, and other specialists, while placing greater emphasis on the development of women’s football.

The launch of the sports television channels Varzish and Football has further supported efforts to promote the sport nationwide.

Officials say the new Technical Center is expected to become a key hub for football development and contribute to the growth of sports infrastructure in Tajikistan.
