North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has unveiled a major campaign to modernize the country’s coal industry and rebuild coal-mining communities nationwide, while reaffirming plans to expand nuclear and military capabilities and reshuffling senior leadership positions, according to state media.

The decisions were announced during an enlarged plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea held from Saturday to Monday, the ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported Tuesday.
