Defending champions Region 2 East successfully retained their girls’ category title after a dominant 4-0 victory over Region 2 West in an all-West Coast Derby final of the 3rd Edition Primary Schools Inter-Regional Football Tournament.
Alimatou Badjie handed Region 2 East a dream start with a first half brace, finding the net in the 3rd and 5th minutes to put the holders firmly in control.
Captain Haddy Saidy then produced a brilliant free kick in the 16th minute to extend the lead to 3-0 before Awa Saidy added the fourth goal in the second half to complete a commanding title-winning performance.
Region 2 East also swept the individual honours, with Isatou Camara named Best Player of the Tournament, while Awa Saidy finished as the competition’s leading goalscorer with four goals.
