Elsewhere, England’s second Test against New Zealand at the Oval continues, day two of golf’s US Open at Shinnecock Hills will unfold and British number five Arthur Fery carries home tennis hopes in the men’s singles at Queen’s.

Scotland beat Haiti 1-0 in their World Cup opener at the Boston Stadium and a point against African champions Morocco in an 11pm kick-off at the same venue could be enough to seal a place in the knockout rounds, with coverage starting on ITV at 10pm.
The United States will aim to follow up their opening 4-1 Group D win over Paraguay against Australia in Seattle (BBC One, 8pm kick off), before Brazil face Haiti (ITV, 0130BST Friday) and Turkey take on Paraguay (ITV, 0400BST Fri)
Full steam ahead for Fery at Queen’s

Arthur Fery is hoping to cause another upset at the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club after reaching the quarter-finals of an ATP Tour event for the first time by beating France’s Adrian Mannarino in straight sets on Wednesday.
World number 140 Fery, who overcame fellow Briton Toby Samuel in the opening round, faces Argentina’s seventh seed Francisco Cerundolo on Friday for a place in the last four (BBC Two England 1pm).
Preparation for Wimbledon also continues at the Nottingham Open, where the women’s singles has reached the quarter-final stage, with live coverage on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport.

England continue their bid to seal a Test series win against New Zealand at the Oval, (Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket from 10.15am) while Ireland take on New Zealand in Southampton at the Women’s T20 World Cup (Sky Sports Cricket, 7pm), and Ben Stokes could play for Durham in one of the nine men’s County Championship fixtures getting under way.
Two group one races – the Commonwealth Cup, 3.05pm, and the Coronation Stakes, 4.20pm – are the highlights of a seven-race card on day four at Royal Ascot, (ITV from 1.30pm and ITV4 from 5.50pm)
In rugby union, an England XV takes on a France XV in a non-cap match in Vannes (kick-off 5.15pm) while the United Rugby Championship final between Leinster and Pretoria Bulls at Croke Park in Dublin (kick-off 7.30pm) will be screened live on Premier Sports.
Hull KR play Super League rivals Leigh at Craven Park (from 7.30pm on Sky Sports Action), while the 2026-27 Premier League fixtures will be released on at 10am.
