The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has arrested three people and recovered an AR-15 assault rifle as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Eric Alezis Albert.
Albert was killed on June 20, and the investigation led police to conduct a search operation on June 27, at a residence in the Greenland area.
During the search, officers recovered the AR-15 assault rifle along with a quantity of 5.56 calibre ammunition. Three individuals were arrested in connection with the recovery—two minors and one adult but no charges have been laid at this time.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool expressed concern about the discovery, particularly the involvement of minors.
“The recovery of this weapon is a critical development in our investigation,” Vanterpool stated. “It is especially alarming that such a dangerous firearm was discovered in a residence with minors. This underscores the urgent need for vigilance and support from the community.”
Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-8477 (TIPS).
