Hundreds gather for Holy Trinity feast Day celebrations at Historic Richmond Parish

The feast of the Holy Trinity was celebrated with reverence, joy and strong community participation at the historic Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Parish in Richmond, as hundreds of faithful gathered to mark one of the most significant celebrations of the Orthodox calendar.

Families, young people and elderly parishioners filled the church, which has served as a spiritual and cultural landmark for Melbourne’s Greek community for more than six decades, taking part in the liturgical celebrations and honouring the parish’s patronal feast day.

The festive Divine Liturgy was led by Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, alongside parish priest Fr Kyriakos Ioannidis.

In their addresses, the clergy reflected on the significance of the Holy Trinity and emphasised the importance of preserving faith, unity and love within both the family and the wider community.

Following the service, celebrations continued with a festive luncheon in the adjacent community hall, which was filled with parishioners and friends of the church who gathered to exchange greetings and celebrate the occasion together.

Among those attending were representatives of community and seniors’ organisations from across Melbourne, reflecting the parish’s longstanding role as a focal point for Greek community life in Victoria.

Special thanks were extended to the event’s sponsors and supporters, with particular acknowledgement given to Theo Andrianakos and his wife for their financial contribution.

Recognition was also given to the Parish Council, the Philoptochos Society and the dozens of volunteers whose efforts throughout the celebratory weekend helped ensure the success of the festivities.

Bishop Kyriakos and Fr Kyriakos Ioannidis thanked the faithful for their continued support and active involvement in parish life, extending wishes of health, blessings and “Chronia Polla” to all.

The Holy Trinity Parish Council comprises Stamatis Sklavounos, Spyridon Bouziotis, Apostolos Kostaras, Evangelos Kostaras, Nikolaos Triantafyllou, Athanasios Kouventidis, Andreas Panayi, Anthimos Arvanitis and Christos Barlas.
