Tirupati-Raxaul Express launches weekly service

The inaugural 17433/17434 Tirupati-Raxaul Express was formally flagged off on Monday by Tirupati MP M. Gurumoorthy and local MLA Arani Srinivasulu at the Tirupati railway station.

Once introduced as a special train to connect Tirupati to the central and eastern States of India, it has now been converted into a regular weekly train that runs on Mondays.

The train passes through Renigunta, Kadapa, Guntakal, Secunderabad, Bilaspur, Ranchi to reach Raxaul in Bihar, that abuts the Indo-Nepal border. The train journey covers 2,795 km involves a running time of 59 hours.

Divisional Commercial Manager Mohan Krishna, who is also the Tirupati Station Director, announced that the new ticket fare would be 1.3 times lower than it was in the past following its conversion from a special train to a regular service.
